SPAM.

1. definition; the abuse of electronic messages. or unwanted emails. example: commercial advertising, and get-rich-quick schemes.

2. databases are included in this topic because..
programs such as DNSBL (Domain Name System Blacklists) are created to stop spamming. The program itself has a database that queries the name of the company or spammer and the IP address so that the next time it sends an email, the program can block it.

  • filling out "competition forms". - whatever the customer puts into that form, is the data collected by whoever conducts the poll.

  • Real estate sales and ownership

  • Postal service change-of-address records

be careful of what you store in the databases. as whatever detail you put in will have an ethical consequence behind it. such as the hacker negatively abusing your personal information.
